- Sponsor
This contest (“Contest”) is sponsored by Redfin Corporation, 1099 Stewart St, Suite 600, Seattle, WA 98101 (“Sponsor”). Reddit, Inc. is not a sponsor of, and has no responsibility or liability in connection with, this Contest.
- Eligibility
The Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old and have reached the age of majority in their state of residence at the time of entry and who have an active Reddit account in good standing. The following are not eligible: employees, officers, directors, and contractors of Redfin Corporation, Rocket Companies, Inc., and their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising or promotional agencies; anyone involved in administering or judging this Contest, including participating subreddit moderators; and members of their immediate families or households. “Immediate family” means spouse, domestic partner, parents, children, siblings, and their respective spouses, including step relationships. “Household” means persons living in the same residence, whether related or not. U.S. territories and possessions are excluded. Void where prohibited by law.
- Contest Periods
The Contest consists of four (4) weekly contest periods (each a “Contest Period”). Each Contest Period begins on Monday at 12:00 PM Pacific Time (“PT”) and ends immediately before the following Monday at 9:00 AM PT (the “Cutoff”), on the dates below. PT means Pacific Standard Time or Pacific Daylight Time, as applicable. All times are determined by the Sponsor’s official timekeeping. Entries do not carry over between Contest Periods.
Sponsor will announce each week’s theme on r/RedfinDreamHomes at the start of that Contest Period. Sponsor reserves the right to modify themes with notice to the community.
- How to Enter
During a Contest Period, eligible participants may enter for free by creating a new public post on r/RedfinDreamHomes that:
- Includes a working link to a home listing on Redfin.com that matches the week’s theme;
- Includes at least five (5) photos of the home;
- Uses the contest flair designated for that week; and
- Is submitted during the applicable Contest Period.
Limit [one (1)] entry per person per Contest Period, using one Reddit account throughout the Contest. If more than one entry is submitted in a Contest Period, only the first otherwise eligible entry will be considered. Different entrants may select the same home but must submit their own original explanations. Entries must comply with the subreddit rules, the Reddit User Agreement and Reddit Rules, and these Official Rules. Entries that are off-theme, lack the required link, explanation, disclosure, or flair, are submitted outside the Contest Period, or are materially edited after the Cutoff are ineligible. Sponsor may disqualify entries that are offensive, unlawful, misleading, spam, plagiarized, generated by automated means, infringe third-party rights, disclose private personal information, or otherwise violate these Official Rules. No purchase, property ownership, home tour, referral, brokerage or mortgage relationship, or marketing consent is required. Do not visit or contact a property owner or occupant to enter. Sponsor’s decisions must be made in its sole discretion, consistently with these Official Rules.
- Winner Selection
At each Cutoff, the eligible entry with the highest number of Reddit upvotes for that Contest Period will be the winner (the “Weekly Winner”). Sponsor will record upvote totals at the Cutoff, and votes received after the Cutoff will not count. Sponsor’s recorded total is final.
Vote manipulation. Any attempt to manipulate votes, including but not limited to using multiple accounts, bots, vote trading or exchanges, paid votes, or soliciting votes off-platform in a way that violates Reddit’s rules, is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, determine whether vote manipulation has occurred. If the highest-voted entry is ineligible, disqualified, or suspected of vote manipulation, the next-highest eligible entry will be selected as winner. Ties will be broken by [earliest submission time / random drawing].
Upvote counts are displayed by Reddit and may be affected by Reddit’s own vote-fuzzing and moderation systems. Sponsor is not responsible for discrepancies in vote totals.
- Prizes
Weekly Winner (4 total): One (1) $300 Visa digital gift card each. ARV: $300.
Total approximate retail value of all prizes: $1,200. Prizes are non-transferable, and no substitutions or cash alternatives are offered, except that Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the prize becomes unavailable. [Limit of one (1) Weekly Winner prize per person.] Gift cards are subject to the issuer’s terms and conditions.
- Winner Notification and Delivery
Weekly Winners will be announced on r/RedfinDreamHomes shortly after each Cutoff and contacted via Reddit direct message or modmail. Winners must respond within [five (5)] days with a valid email address to receive their prize. Prizes will be delivered digitally to that email address. If a winner does not respond within the stated period, or a prize is returned undeliverable, the prize may be forfeited and awarded to the next-highest eligible entry or Sponsor may, at its discretion, choose not to award it. Winners may be required to provide additional information (such as a completed tax form) to receive a prize. Winners are responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prizes.
- Entry License and Representations
By entering, each participant represents and warrants that the entry is their own original post, that they have the right to submit all content included, and that the entry does not violate any third party’s rights. Participants acknowledge that listing photos and information on Redfin.com may be owned by third parties, including listing brokers and MLSs, and agree to use such materials only as permitted by [applicable terms]. These Official Rules do not grant a license in those materials. By entering, each participant grants Sponsor and its affiliates a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, display, format, excerpt, and share their original entry content and Reddit username in connection with administering, announcing, and promoting the Contest and its results in Sponsor-controlled websites and social media, without further compensation or approval, except where prohibited by law. Sponsor may permit its service providers to exercise these rights solely on its behalf. This license does not include rights in third-party listing materials; Sponsor must separately clear those rights before any reuse. Sponsor will not materially misrepresent an entrant’s statements or imply an endorsement of brokerage or mortgage services. Separate written permission is required for unrelated advertising uses, paid advertising, or use of an entrant’s legal name, image, or likeness beyond their Reddit username. Participants retain ownership of their original content.
- Privacy
Sponsor will use information collected in connection with the Contest (such as Reddit username, contact information, eligibility information, and tax documentation when required) to administer the Contest, verify eligibility, deliver prizes, maintain required records, and comply with law, in accordance with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy at https://www.redfin.com/about/privacy-policy and these Official Rules. Contest entry does not constitute consent to receive marketing emails or calls. Contact information collected solely for prize administration will not be added to marketing lists or sold or shared for cross-context behavioral advertising. Sponsor may provide necessary information to service providers assisting with administration, fulfillment, or legal compliance. Public entry posts and usernames are visible to others and are also subject to Reddit’s privacy practices. Do not post private contact, financial, or taxpayer information publicly.
- General Conditions
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest, or any Contest Period, if it becomes incapable of running fairly as planned due to fraud, technical failure, platform changes, or any other cause beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control. Sponsor will post notice on r/RedfinDreamHomes and, where reasonably practicable and lawful, award affected prizes by applying the stated judging criteria to eligible, unaffected entries received before the disruption or during a fairly rescheduled period. Sponsor will not retroactively change judging criteria or eligibility requirements to disadvantage existing eligible entries. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify anyone who tampers with the entry process, the operation of Reddit or Redfin.com, or violates these rules. Subject to applicable law, Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected entries, or for technical, hardware, software, or network failures beyond its reasonable control, including removal of posts by Reddit or subreddit moderators. Sponsor will not use this provision to withhold an otherwise awardable prize for convenience. These Official Rules control over conflicting promotional statements. Failure to enforce a provision in one instance does not waive it in another. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective to the extent permitted by law.
- Release and Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, by participating, entrants release and hold harmless Sponsor, Rocket Companies, Inc., Reddit, Inc., and their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, and agents from claims and liability arising from participation in the Contest or the acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize, except to the extent caused by a released party’s gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the released parties will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the Contest. Nothing in these Official Rules limits rights or remedies that cannot be waived under applicable law.
- Governing Law and Disputes
This Contest is governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except that nonwaivable protections of an entrant’s state of residence remain applicable. To the extent permitted by applicable law, any disputes concerning the Contest will be resolved exclusively in the state courts located in King County, Washington, or the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, Seattle Division. For Contest-specific disputes, this Section controls over inconsistent dispute-resolution provisions in Sponsor’s website terms; those website terms continue to govern use of the website otherwise.
- Winners List and Questions
For the verified winners’ Reddit usernames, please see the pinned post on r/RedfinDreamHomes or send a request to [Contest contact email] within sixty (60) calendar days after the final Cutoff. Questions about these Official Rules may be sent to the same address. Winner announcements will not include private contact or tax information.
