1. The Loving Hut

Located in Sandy Springs, Loving Hut is a popular Atlanta-area destination for vegan food. They offer a vast array of appetizers, soups, and raw dishes ranging from steamed dumplings and vegan wings to zucchini pasta and broccoli teriyaki.

“My favorite vegan spot in Metro Atlanta is The Loving Hut,” says Tabatha James of The Sensible Vegan.  “The menu is creative, diverse, and full of great vegan options. The must-try items are the Spicy Vegan Buffalo Pizza and the Philly Cheese Hoagie. There are so many great options on the menu.”

Jenne Claiborne of Sweet Potato Soul agrees. “It’s a humble chain restaurant with a huge and tasty menu. Start with the fresh Basil Rolls and fried Spring Rolls. My favorite entree is the Combo Cha Cha––fried vegan konjak shrimp with minced veggies and chili pepper.”

3. Plant Based Pizzeria

Who doesn’t love pizza? If you’re new to the area and in need of a go-to pizza spot, locals recommend Plant Based Pizzeria. Their claim to fame is being the first 100% plant-based pizza place in Atlanta, and their recipes feature a unique twist specific to the Peach State.

“Atlanta is alive with vegan restaurants, but what makes our favorite spot unique is its use of Georgia’s favorite fruit, the Georgia Peach,” says Jen Horton from VeggL. “Plant-Based Pizzeria, in Midtown and Sandy Springs, has a Georgia Peach Pizza with spicy Beyond Sausage, red onions, jalapenos, and the star, peaches.”

4. Vegan Dream Doughnuts

For those with a sweet tooth, Vegan Dream Doughnuts is the perfect place for a sweet treat that’s also vegan. Using ingredients like coconut flour and fresh produce, they offer plenty of gluten-free, vegan options that taste good while also being good for you.

“My favorite vegan restaurant in Atlanta is Vegan Dream Doughnuts,” says Abraham Gutierrez of Gutierra Vegan Mexican. “They have amazing donuts and drinks like peppermint soursop and stay open very late. I’m able to catch them after a shift at my restaurant, which makes it very convenient, not to mention they’re great people.”

5. Dash & Chutney

The Upper Westside neighborhood is home to Dash & Chutney, a vegan restaurant in Atlanta that specializes in vegan Indian street food. Their menu includes popular dishes from across India. Their head chef, Palak Patel, competed on and won the Food Network show Chopped and was a finalist on season 14 of Food Network Star.

Leslie Peterson of 365 Atlanta Traveler has nothing but good things to say about the restaurant. “Chattahoochee Food Works food hall hosts over 30 vendors, and it’s here you’ll find Atlanta’s best vegan restaurant: Dash & Chutney. It’s also the first in Atlanta to offer full flavor plant-based Indian street food. Chef Palak Patel’s Pav Bhaji is perfect if you just need a snack (think vegetarian Sloppy Joe), but if you’re craving more, then pick the Winning Beat Bobby Flay Chik’n Curry. Pair it with Salted Caramel Cardamon Rice Pudding for the perfect meal.”

6. Trend Urban Cafe

You can find vegan restaurants in Atlanta without dealing with downtown traffic. Trend Urban Cafe can be found in the northeast corner of the city and offers a wide variety of vegan-friendly options.

“Trend Urban Café in Stone Mountain, GA is a new local favorite,” says Helene Greenberg of Georgia VegFest. They’ve taken some traditional names and turned them into vegan delights. I started with the Bacon Avocado Spinach Salad (minus the bacon) with the pomegranate balsamic dressing, and it woke me up. The Trendy Mess Marinated Impossible Burger with vegan cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, the zesty sauce, and the Vegan Wings as a side was a tasty and filling meal.”
