Pittsburgh’s housing market is showing steady activity as of mid-2025. According to Redfin, the median home sale price in July was $230,000, down about 4.2% year over year, while the median price per square foot is $153, reflecting a 3.8% increase from last year. Homes are taking longer to sell, with an average of 43 days on the market, compared to 34 days a year ago.

Competition remains relatively modest, with many homes receiving just 1–2 offers, and the sale-to-list price ratio averaging 98.2%. Buyers still have leverage, but well-priced homes in desirable neighborhoods are moving quickly.

Redfin’s home-trends data shows that certain features are helping homes sell above list price in Pittsburgh. Homes with screened porches, remodeled kitchens, granite counters, large basements, pantries, and new roofs are more likely to command a premium. Across homes with these trending features, the median listing price is $229,900, aligning closely with the citywide median.
