The Most Expensive Home Sales in San Francisco, CA in May 2025

by

San Francisco has always been an expensive place to live. As the epicenter of multiple economic booms, the area’s stunning landscapes and world-class tech industry have long made it a magnet for high-income earners. Today is no exception: It recently ranked as the fourth-most expensive city in the world.

Somehow, buying a house is even more costly, with house prices only second to nearby San Jose. And despite some post-pandemic outmigration, the market has grown steadily more expensive. A high concentration of wealth, plus limited housing supply, has pushed prices to new heights in the past decade. The median sale price for a home in April was $1,550,000 — up 136% from 2015.

So, where did San Francisco’s wealthiest buyers invest last month? Here were the most expensive home sales in San Francisco in May, according to data from Redfin
